Welcome to our second annual “Trinity Bight Yoga and Wellness Festival”. We are so excited to be hosting this Yoga Festival again for the second year. We feel the time is ripe for our province to create our Yoga Community in a beautiful part of the province with stunning seascapes and world class hiking trails.
**Please take note this schedule may change. A finalized schedule will be sent to each registered participant at the end of March.
** Meals and accommodations are on your own. We will provide a light snack on both Saturday and Sunday morning.
** There are two scheduled hikes at the end of the day on Saturday and Sunday, should you wish to do any of the other hikes that are part of the Hike Discovery network - www.hikediscovery.com - will be on your own. A list of the hiking trails will be provided also at the end of March. We would also suggest, weather permitting you come early to hike on Friday, or take your hike Sunday afternoon. Most hikes in the area are about one and half hours in duration if you are a moderate hiker.

Teresa Butler New Moon Ceremony – the Beach in Trinity This is an opportunity to celebrate NEW BEGINNINGS and plant new seeds of intentions and goals! We will be releasing old self-limiting thought patterns and beliefs that you had of yourself so you can blossom into who you truly are. There will be meditating, journaling, chanting, dancing and practising cleansing rituals that we will do together around the fire to welcome in the light of your Soul’s Calling!
Biography: Teresa holds a BA degree in English Literature, but her true passion is teaching yoga, nutrition and mentoring people through customized transformative healing wellness programs and self-empowerment programs. She is also very deeply passionate about supporting women through pregnancy, labour and birth as a Doula birth coach. In 2010, she graduated from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition as a Certified Holistic Nutrition Practitioner and in 2012 she began her yoga teaching journey globally., She obtained yoga certifications in 200 hr YTT, 220 HR Kundalini YYT, Prenatal, as well as Postnatal and Core Strength Vinyasa throughout Canada, USA and India. Teresa currently has her own Holistic Healing Wellness Business called Teresa Butler Wellness where she leads workshops, retreats, transformational programs, doula work, nutritional counselling, transformation 1-1 mentoring, holistic Ayurveda Body Massage and private yoga sessions. She firmly believes that your health is your wealth and is driven by passion to help support you on your wellness journey to feel richly abundant in your mind, body and soul.
This event will be held on the Beach in Trinity, so please dress warmly. If weather inclement, will be held in the Theatre.
Laura Beth (LB) Power Yoga Flow Class.
LB’s all levels vinyasa class is an uplifting journey into the magic of yoga. Moving with your breath and the beats together we will go deep into the practice that nourishes the soul and invigorates the body. LB’s well articulated instructions simultaneously make this class inviting to beginners and challenging to those with more experience. Through strong fluid movement we will wash away stress, tension and stagnation in the body and mind and open up to a weekend of strength, inspiration and transformation.
Biography: LB is a yoga and meditation teacher based in St. John’s, NL. She started her journey on the mat in 2005 but her love for movement came long before that as a dancer and athlete. Drawing from a variety of styles and trainings she aims to expand the yoga community by offering accessible, inspiring and passionate classes to all ages. She founded the non profit organization, Soul Warrior Yoga for Youth in 2013, is am ambassador for Lululemon, teaches a regular drop in schedule at Exhale Pilates and Yoga studio and loves planning unique events for the yoga community. With a blend of compassion and humour, LB encourages students to maximize their opportunity both on and off the mat by being mindful and making choices that are sustaining to both the individual and the earth.
Andrea Cree Buti Yoga.
Buti Yoga transforms your BODY + SOUL with cardio-intensive bursts of tribal dance, primal movement and conditioning woven into a dynamic yoga practice. Buti yoga helps women tap into their inner power to unleash unshakeable confidence and bond with other women. This movement modality clears away stuck energy and revitalizes the body to allow you to shift your perception of the world around you. SWEAT WITH INTENTION.
Biography: Andrea is a 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). She lives in the woods outside of Corner Brook with her husband, Sean, and a menagerie of pets (2 cats, 3 dogs and 9 chickens). She has a M. Sc in Conservation Biology and is passionate about nature appreciation and connecting deeply to Mother Earth through yoga, meditation and mindfulness. Her life mission is to be a conduit for knowledge and wonder and she is excited to share her love of yoga with her students. She specializes in Blissology-Inspired Vinyasa Flow, Restorative and Buti Yoga.
Nichole Bailey Myofascial Release Yin Class.
Join Nichole on a journey, travelling through the entire body using various self-administered MFR techniques. We will combine MFR and Yin yoga, complimenting one another to relax and restore muscles, allowing connective tissues and joints to open. MFR is an alternate treatment technique that treats skeletal muscle immobility and pain by contracting muscles; This releases the tension in the connective tissues that wrap, connect and support the muscles, relieve tightness, rehydrate the fascia connective tissues and create more mobility in the body. Props required per participant – 2 tennis balls/yoga block
Biography: Nichole has been a yoga practitioner and meditator since 2009, receiving a 200 hr certification as a Yoga instructor through Sunshine Yoga Academy in 2011. She has an additional 50 hr yoga certification specializing in yin yoga through Semperviva, with internationally recognized instructor and author Bernie Clark and 65 hr yoga certification specializing in Myofascial Release yin yoga with internationally recognized instructor and senior assistant to Yin Yoga Founder Paul Grilley, Jo Phee. Nichole has completed Level 1 Aerial Yoga through Aircat Aerial Arts and has received a PFIC Certification in both Aerial Hoop/Lyra and pole Fitness. She has also completed Module 1 of Prenatal Yoga Training through Mamata Yoga and is currently working towards the second module. Nichole has a 40 hr mudra training program certificate and practices energy healing, having received Reiki Levels 1, 11, 111 and Reiki Master Certification which she incorporates in the practice.
Carolyn Hapgood Yogic Sleep. Yoga Nidra, a Sanskrit term meaning yogic sleep, is a deep relaxation technique. It is similar to a guided meditation. Carolyn will provide an explanation of Yoga Nidra and the benefits. Then she will guide us on a Yoga Nidra journey of ourselves. Yoga Nidra is a still practice. It is best if you can bring two blankets and perhaps something to place under your knees to support the legs.
Biography: Carolyn Hapgood is a Talk Therapist who incorporates the body and energy systems into her private practice, Potentiality: A Wellness Company. Carolyn is also a Yoga Teacher (graduated 2012) an Internationally Certified Yoga Therapist (2013) a Certified Neurogenic Yoga Teacher (2014) and a Global TRE-Tension & Trauma Release Exercises Provider (2015). Carolyn also studied with William Lee Rand and is a Reiki Master in both Holy Fire II Usui and Holy Fire II Karuna Reiki.
Rachel Blundon Dynamic Movement Class. Join Rachel in the exploration of traditional yoga asana, as it intersects with modern functional movement practices. Practice yoga poses outside of static holds and experience dynamic movement within them as we approach this class from a position of strength and encouragement. Props: yoga strap and block.
Biography: Certified Yoga teacher, Co-owner/Operator Elements Yoga and Wellness Inc. Initially turning to yoga after an injury for its therapeutic applications, Rachel fell in love and has been an avid yoga practitioner since 2011. She has studied under the guidance of Ashleigh Sergeant and Prana Vinipasa, Michelle Bouvier. This pair’s collaborative and stylistically different teachings have given her an appreciation for both traditional yoga alignment and for ideas informed by movement science.
Jody Williams Sit Like a Buddha: Awaken the Heart. Jody Williams is a 20 year mindfulness practitioner, Yoga Teacher and Buddhist Meditation Instructor. This class will begin with a short talk on meditation and the “middle way” as taught by the Buddha. We will then practice shamatha meditation to calm the mind, followed by Tibetan Tonglen Meditation to cultivate compassion and awaken the heart.
Biography: Often people come to Yoga searching for something, Jody was no different. After 15 years of daily mindfulness meditation practice, endless retreats and time at a Buddhist Monastery, he still felt something was missing. He found it on the mat at his first Yoga class: the body, breath and mind working together through movement brought the sense of ease he was looking for. Jody offers an authentic, mindful, down to earth approach to teaching. Without losing the integrity of the Yoga tradition, he brings insights from his Buddhist practices into class and focuses on mindfull movement, linked with the breath to enhance the meditation quality of Yoga. What to expect: Jody teaches people not poses,” we don’t force our body to get into the pose, but we use the pose to get into our body.” The class focus is on functional movement, balancing the nervous system and calming the mind. Leave class feeling grounded, balanced and rejuvenated.
Linda Ivany New Moon Flow
The New Moon Flow will transition you from your busy schedule into the wonderful world of yoga. Your weekend will begin with a gentle new moon flow where you will stay in a yoga pose long enough to enjoy it but not have to work too hard. In this way, the slow methodical movement will provide you with an opportunity to move your prana and feel your body and reconnect with your inner self.
Biography: Linda is the founder and organizer of the Trinity Bight Yoga Festival and Wander East Yoga Conference. As a Registered Yoga Teacher she is committed to enhancing the knowledge of Yoga in Newfoundland and Labrador. She has extensive training in yoga and offers classes in her studio in Port Rexton. Her yoga classes are carefully crafted based on solid foundations of alignment. She encourages her students to explore the ancient science of yoga as they explore their life long journey.
